Rockville's origins date back to Colonial America. It has grown from a population of 200 in 1800 to a current population of over 65,000 residents. It has become a cosmopolitan city of many neighborhoods. It is a center for national biomed corporations, the federal and county governments. Over 90% of the workforce is in white collar jobs. There are many people living here who work in management, administrative, the arts, science and computer science and math. Rockville City is the seat of Montgomery County Government.
