Foggy Bottom

South of Dupont Circle and home to George Washington University and the Kennedy Center this neighborhood is a neighborhood of students, young professionals and mid-career internationals, corporate lawyers, doctors and wealthy retirees. The most common housing options are enormous condo, co-op and apartment buildings - mostly built in the 1970's. The luxury West End has some newer buildings such as 22 West the Ritz Carlton and The Columbia. Only two per cent of the households include children. Centrally located and a hub for transportation, there is the nearby Foggy Bottom Metro station with the Orange and Blue lines as well as a number of bus lines. Parking can be difficult. Price - while you can get a better value here than in adjacent neighborhoods due to the lack of many of the urban amenities and services that draw some home buyers.
