Located just to the west of Tenleytown this neighborhood is very residential and largely populated by families and senior citizens. About three-quarters of the homes are Colonials with well-manicured lawns, small lots and linked by back alleys. The population tends to skew toward lawyers, professors, think tank analysts, journalists and federal workers. The north and east corners are anchored by Friendship Heights and Tenleytown both on the Red line. It has a low-key, quiet profile with the Spring Valley Shopping Center with more eating and shopping options are also along Wisconsin Avenue.
